| Primer
applied as single coat (high build) with double
coat of topcoat. |
| |
| Additional
primer may be required on rough substrate. |
| |
| Sealer/primer
required on porous surfaces. |
| |
| Repaint
- primer not req'd if surface is integrally sound.
Rust areas should be properly cleaned & primed. |
| |
| Note: |
If
hide is not a factor, primer thickness
can often be increased with corresponding
decrease in the topcoat (thus saving money).
Deep, bright red, yellow or blue colours
can be achieved by using Starpoxy
High Build Primer which is available in
bright red, yellow or deep blue. A single
topcoat at 1.0 to 1.5 mils DFT is commonly
sufficient if primer is increased accordingly.
Brush
& Roll topcoat applications will approximate
2½ to 3 mils DFT per coat due to
greater viscosity. StarpoxyTM primer should
roll out at 1½ to 2 mils.
