Tristar formulates and manufactures specialty coatings for the Aerospace, Industrial and Commercial markets. Unlike conventional architectural coatings such as latex or alkyd paints, both our 1 and 2 component products are engineered to a significantly higher durability and appearance standard. In many instances, these coatings can be cost effective and excellent choices even for traditional architectural markets.

Coatings are formulated to improve the durability and appearance of the substrate. Image and first impressions are so important! The chemistry of a formulation is developed to provide the ideal degree of performance for each of the following properties.

While traditionally, there are compromises to be made in a formulation in terms of improving one property at the expense of another, the challenge is to improve the performance of one or more properties without compromising the performance of others. Tristar products have such an advantage when compared against the competition.

Tristar has an in-house R & D lab separate from its Quality Assurance facilities and operates from owned premises in the greater Toronto area. Our quality systems are certified to the requirements of ISO 9002 standards. Our origins date back to December 1971. Since then, the Company has steadily grown by concentrating on individual batch sizes of 5 to 500 gallons uniquely formulated to the specific needs and market niches of each of our customers.

Our leadership in the industry is demonstrated by our expertise and flexibility to adjust the paint and coating system including individual formulations to customer specific requirements. Surface preparation and paint application recommendations to improve efficiency and output are included in Tristar's service. The result is a total painting solution for our customers.
